Our Family Story

Our story starts way back...

After graduating from a four year college with my bachelors degree, I was still feeling incredibly lost. I tried everything you could think of: Acting, writing, digital and dark room photography, singing, teaching, and more. After spending the past five years of my life working a million different jobs- I still had no idea what I wanted to do. It was horrible.

So naturally I threw everyone for a curve ball and said “I’m going back to school to become a chef,” …. I’ll tell you, there wasn’t too many people thrilled to hear this. I’ll never take the decision back. I met my husband Bobby in November of 2014, in my very first class at culinary school. I knew the minute I walked into class and looked at Bob that I was in trouble– so I tried to sit as far away from him as possible. I sat on the exact opposite side of the room so I couldn’t see him. The following day, he had moved seats so he was sitting right next to me. That’s all she wrote.

Fast forward to 5 years working side by side him, as chefs, Covid happened. All the restaurants shut down. We knew then we were going to need to rethink our plan for MANY reasons. The first being that restaurants were probably going to struggle after all of the new Covid restrictions. The second reason being that we would never be able to have a family with the hours we were working. We needed a lifestyle change.

Now presently, we have two crazy dogs and a beautiful little girl. Bobby is working in construction and I am bartending part time while working on getting my photography business up and running. I spent most of my time taking care of our daughter.

Four days after bringing Shelby home from the hospital, we found out she had an incurable metabolic disease called Glutaric Acidemia. There is a lot of unknowns surrounding this disease, so we will continue to learn and grow together to help Shelby have a normal, healthy life.
